Working from home – generally means that temporarily you don’t travel to the office a couple of days a week, you can still access your emails but you want to devote time to work on a project without interruptions plus you have no meetings planned. Remote working on the other hand is a different ball game. It is in fact the office – the difference being your office can be accessed from any location on practically any device. Covid-19 has taught us some valuable lessons, the very fact that roles which historically were thought impossible to carry out remotely have been proved otherwise. A workforce that is productive and reliable and appreciates the flexibility of this way of working. You can have a much smaller office with no worries about social distancing or even expansion. Yes I did say expansion!!
The environmental benefits have also been obvious, the reduction in travel being immense and remote working all helps to keep it this way. Along with this the need for a huge office with all the heating and lighting costs are no longer a requirement. You can have a workforce based anywhere, allowing you to hire the best person for the job.
It makes complete sense – this is the way forward.
